Choosing Love Over Fear: Living in the Language of Heaven

Every day, we are invited into a choice: will we live in love, or in fear?

Love is the language of God. Fear is the language of the enemy. One brings expansion, peace, and wholeness. The other contracts, accuses, and steals. I have lived in both—and I know in my body what each one feels like.

When I was drowning as a child, gasping for breath, fear gripped every part of me. It braced my chest. It stiffened my muscles. It whispered: this is the end. And yet—when Heaven met me, when I was held in the light of God’s presence, it was love that spoke louder. Love said: you are mine. You are safe. You will live.

That same choice continues every day. Fear still tries to speak—through stress, shame, and scarcity. But love keeps calling, steady and strong.

What Love Feels Like in the Body

Love is not just an idea; it’s an experience. In your body, love feels like:

  • Shoulders dropping.

  • A soft belly with easy, full breath.

  • A heart that feels both strong and open.

  • Warmth in your chest.

  • A sense of “home” in your own skin.

Love renews. It heals. It creates safety and possibility. It is the physiology of Heaven flowing through your body right now.

What Fear Feels Like in the Body

Fear, on the other hand, feels like:

  • A racing heart.

  • Tightness in the jaw or stomach.

  • Shallow, rapid breathing.

  • Muscles bracing as if waiting for impact.

  • A mind replaying what ifs and not enoughs.

Fear convinces us that life must be managed, controlled, earned. But fear always costs us more than it gives.

Embracing the Power of Choosing Love in Life

Choosing love in life means more than just feeling affection or kindness. It is a conscious decision to face the world with an open heart. It means letting go of fear, anger, and resentment. It means embracing forgiveness, compassion, and hope.

When I reflect on my own journey, I see how fear often tries to hold me back. Fear shouted lies about my worth and my future. But love whispered truth. Love reminded me that I am never alone, that God’s grace surrounds me, and that every moment holds the potential to experience heaven.

Here are some ways to embrace the power of choosing love in your body:

  • Practice gratitude daily: Gratitude shifts your focus from what is lacking to what is abundant.

  • Speak kindly to yourself: Replace harsh self-criticism with gentle encouragement.

  • Reach out to others: Connection is a powerful antidote to fear and isolation.

  • Meditate on love: Use prayer or quiet reflection to invite love into your heart.

Each small step builds a foundation of love that can carry you through life’s challenges.

How to Live with Love Instead of Fear?

Choosing love is not a one-time declaration. It is a daily practice, a rhythm of returning to God’s presence. Here are a few ways to step into love today:

1.    Recognize your fears: Name them without judgment. Awareness is the first step to transformation.

  1. Breathe deeply: When fear rises, slow your breath. This simple act calms the nervous system and opens space for love.

  2. Shift your perspective: Ask yourself, “What would love do right now?” This question helps redirect your thoughts and actions.

  3. Surround yourself with reminders of love: Photos, scriptures, music, or nature can inspire and uplift.

  4. Forgive. Fear clings to grudges; love releases them.

  5. Connect. Fear isolates; love draws near. Reach out to God Himself, a friend, or a neighbor.

  6. Serve others: Acts of self-honoring kindness create a ripple effect of love that nourishes both giver and receiver.

By practicing these steps, you create a life where love becomes your default response.

The Transformative Impact of Choosing Love Over Fear

When we choose love over fear, we transform not only ourselves but also the world around us. Love has a magnetic quality. It draws people in, heals wounds, and builds bridges.

I have witnessed this transformation in my own life and in the lives of others.

Here are some ways to cultivate this transformation:

  • Practice forgiveness: Release grudges and free your heart.

  • Celebrate small victories: Acknowledge moments when love wins.

  • Be patient with yourself and others: Growth takes time.

  • Share your story: Your journey can inspire others to choose love.

This ripple effect of love creates a community of hope and resilience.

The Renewal of Choosing Love

In Our Bodies as the Garden of Eden, I write that our bodies are sacred ground where Heaven and Earth meet. When we choose love over fear, we don’t just feel better—we return to Eden.

Love restores what fear tries to steal. It resets our nervous system, strengthens our immunity, and awakens joy. It brings us back to the truth: we are already loved, already chosen, already whole.

Fear says brace.

Love says breathe.

Fear says you’re alone.

Love says I am with you always.

Your Invitation

Today, I invite you to pause and ask: Where is fear speaking in my life? And what would love say instead?

Even one small shift—a kind word, a prayer of gratitude, a slow breath—plants a seed of Heaven in your body.

Choose love today. Watch your body respond with peace.

Remember, you are not alone on this path. The journey of choosing love over fear is one we walk together, supported by grace and the promise of renewal.

Let love be your guide. Let it soften your heart and strengthen your spirit. In choosing love, you open the door to a life of true fulfillment.

May your journey be blessed with peace, courage, and endless love.
