Every day holds an invitation to walk in the miracle. Not just in the extraordinary, but in the ordinary rhythms of life—our breath, our meals, our steps, our conversations. Spiritual growth isn’t about striving for perfection; it’s about returning again and again to the presence of a God who delights in us.

It’s like tending a garden: small seeds planted in trust, watered with intention, blossoming into resilience and joy. That’s what I explore in my upcoming book, Our Bodies as the Garden of Eden—how our daily practices of wellness and faith are not separate, but united as one sacred life with God.

Here are a few simple practices that have shaped me and may open your spirit, body, and heart to the abundance already within you:

Daily Practices That Nurture Spiritual Wellness

Spiritual wellness flourishes not in grand gestures but in daily tending. Here are some practices that bring me back to God’s presence:

  • Morning Breath & Prayer – Begin with three deep breaths, welcoming God’s Spirit into your body. Let each inhale remind you of His provision and each exhale release your worry.

  • Gratitude Journaling – Write three blessings each day. Gratitude shifts the soil of your heart from scarcity to abundance.

  • Walking with Creation – Step outside, barefoot if you can. Notice the wind, the light, the sounds of life. Creation is the first scripture.

  • Sacred Reading – Linger slowly over a passage of scripture or a poem, not for information but for transformation.

  • Acts of Kindness – Offer kindness as worship. A smile, a word of encouragement, a helping hand—these are miracles in motion.

These aren’t rules. They’re invitations. A rhythm of wellness rooted in God’s love.

What Spiritual Wellness Feels Like

Spiritual wellness is the alignment of body, soul, and spirit with God’s goodness. It’s peace in your breath, clarity in your mind, and resilience in your heart.

Examples include:

  • Prayer and Contemplation – Resting in God’s presence without agenda.

  • Worship in Community – Sharing faith reminds us we belong.

  • Creative Expression – Painting, writing, or singing as offerings of the heart.

  • Service to Others – Loving others as an extension of God’s love for us.

  • Mind-Body Practices – Moving your body in ways that connect you to Spirit—yoga, stretching, walking, even dancing in joy.

When you live this way, your body itself begins to remember Eden.

Stillness: The Sacred Space of Growth

Stillness is not emptiness. It’s space for God’s voice. In The River, my healing began in stillness—when I stopped striving, I finally felt His presence rushing in like living water.

Try this:

  1. Sit in a quiet place.

  2. Close your eyes.

  3. Take slow, deep breaths.

  4. Repeat a word like “love” or “peace.”

  5. Stay there, letting God’s Spirit speak in the silence.

At first, you may feel restless. But over time, stillness becomes home—the place where love and clarity meet.

Integrating Spiritual Practices Into Your Life

Spiritual wellness grows when it’s woven into your daily rhythms. You don’t have to add more “to-dos.” Instead, make space for sacred moments:

  • Set intentions each morning (“I will notice God’s gifts today”).

  • Anchor rituals in your life—like lighting a candle when you pray.

  • Unplug regularly to hear your own breath again.

  • Reflect nightly on where you saw God move.

This isn’t about performance. It’s about presence. About remembering that you and God are already walking together.

Walking Together

Spiritual growth is magnified in community. Whether it’s a small group, a retreat, or simply walking alongside a trusted friend, sharing your journey invites deeper joy.

In Our Bodies as the Garden of Eden, I remind readers: we are not just individual gardens—we are part of God’s great landscape, meant to flourish together.

So as you tend to your spirit, don’t walk alone. Let others encourage you. Share your story. Receive theirs. Healing and wellness come alive when love flows in both directions.

Final Blessing

May you remember today: you are not separate from wellness. You are already living in the miracle. Your daily practices are not chores; they are seeds of love planted in the soil of God’s presence.

Keep tending your garden—gently, faithfully, joyfully. Heaven is already here.

I invite you to explore these spiritual wellness practices with an open heart. Each step you take is a step toward deeper peace and transformation. May your journey be filled with light, love, and the gentle whisper of the Father guiding you home.
